Celebrating Cary Ball, Jr.’s Life

Toni Taylor, Cary Ball Jr.’s mom, and supporters were joined on April 24, 2018 by mothers from around the country whose children were murdered by police to celebrate Cary’s life.

On April 24, 2013, Cary Ball Jr. was shot by St. Louis city police 25 times at the end of a police chase. Ball was an honor roll student at Forest Park Community College with a 3.86 grade point average.

“Despite Ball Jr. placing his gun on the ground, police shot him 22 times.”

At a December 20, 2017 press conference Missouri Representative Bruce Franks, Jr. and the family of Ball called on the St. Louis circuit attorney’s office to investigate Ball’s fatal shooting.

At a press conference January 29, 2019, CAPCR and the Ball family wrote a letter to the U. S. Attorney, asking him to investigate the failure of an earlier FBI "investigation," for which the FBI could produce no records. The letter asked the U.S. Attorney to rescind the earlier finding exonerating the officers and to determine the feasibility of a new investigation.
